Founder Chairman/CEO, Sustain Ability Showcase Asia (SASA)
Ken Hickson is an author, lecturer, consultant and communicator, with a wealth of experience in media and public affairs. This includes a total of 23 years based in Singapore, where he founded and managed a leading international communications company and, since September 2010, a specialist consultancy Sustain Ability Showcase Asia (SASA). His working life began in the media communication industry in Wellington, New Zealand in 1962, as a journalist on a leading national daily newspaper. He has also worked in radio, magazines and television, as well as in public relations for Air New Zealand and other organisations. When he first went to Singapore to work, he was a consultant to Singapore Airlines and later managed an international programme for the Singapore Tourism Board. He set up his own communications consultancy in 1986 and continued to work in Singapore until end 2000, after his business was acquired by Fleishman Hillard. His landmark climate change work, “The ABC of Carbon” was published in Australia, one of the first to be printed on ENVI 50/50 Carbon Neutral paper. “Race for Sustainability”, published by World Scientific in Singapore was the first book in Asia 100% PEFC Certified.
