Prof. Madya Dr. Hashim Bin Md Noor

Dr. Hashim Md Noor has more than 30 years experience in forestry R&D. After graduated from Faculty of Forestry, UPM in 1980, he joined Forest Research Institute (FRIM) in May 1980 as Plantation Silviculturist. In 2003, he received his doctoral degree from University of Wales, Aberystwyth, United Kingdom. His specialty at FRIM was Silviculture of Short Rotation Forestry and Agroforestry, and had participated in the international consultancy on the Establishment of Sesbania Plantation for production of MDF in Pakistan  (2008-2009) and Egypt (2010- 2016).  He retired from FRIM in May 2013.  During his tenure at FRIM, he involved in several high level National Committees on the Development of Large scale Commercial Forest Plantation in Malaysia (2006-2013). In 2014, he joined Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) as a full time lecturer at the Faculty of Earth Science. He taught forestry subjects, including Dendrology, Wood Identification and Anatomy and Forest Silviculture.  He was transferred to a new department, when UMK created Faculty of Bioengineering and Technology in April 2017.
