Mr. Ngo Sy Hoai

Ngo Sy Hoai, born in 1959, is Vice Secretary General, Vietnam Timber & Forest Products Association (VIFORES). In the period 1982 – 2002, following the university education and post-graduation training in the former Soviet Union, Ngo Sy Hoai was employed by the Ministry of Forestry and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam. With professional education in forestry, Ngo Sy Hoai was involved in designing and implementing a large number of forestry and wood industry development projects using local and overseas funding. He also provided contribution to the integration of Vietnam forestry/wood industry into international initiatives/processes toward sustainable forest management and responsible wood processing and trading. From 2003 up to now Ngo Sy Hoai has been elected to be Vice Secretary General, VIFORES, the association of Vietnamese wood processing and trading enterptrises. At his current position, Ngo Sy Hoai has been supporting member enterprises to work toward wood legality assurance and contributing to improve wood industry development strategy for Vietnam.
